Dr Susan Tresman PhD, BSc, PGCE

Dr Susan Tresmanour, our Ambassador for Surrey, has a long and illustrious career in the worlds of charity and higher education. Culminating in Senior Lecturer in Science Education, Programme Director of the Student Retention Programme and MSc in Science, and CEO of the British Dyslexia Association and the Grafham Grange Special Educational Trust.

She has held a number of appointments as Visiting Professor in Open Learning and Widening Participation in Universities in the UK and overseas, including University of Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg.

Trustee appointments have included Chair of the National Association of Independent and Non Maintained Special Schools, Chair of Carers Support Waverley , Chair of Governors of Cranleigh Infant School , Trustee and Carer Ambassador for Action for Carers Surrey.

Sue held the leadership post of Vice Chair of NHS Guildford and Waverley Clinical Commissioning Group 2012-2018 and currently is part of the Lay Membership Team of NHS Surrey Heartlands, Health and Care Partnership. In August 2019 she was appointed as the Independent Chair of Guildford and Waverley Integrated Care Partnership. It brings together a range of partners including NHS and Social Care Providers, Children's Services, voluntary, community and faith groups and Health Commissioners.

She is committed through these roles to promote inclusive learning, support and access to health and care for all members of the community (both human and animals) and, in particular, those who are vulnerable and in need of special services.

Sue is a trustee of Mane Chance Sanctuary and the proud owner of one of our limited edition Poppy the War Horse maquettes.
