Christmas comes early as we reveal our festive card for 2025

Our Christmas Card for 2025, front and back, available to pre-order from our shop

Junior Ambassador Jess Edwards has created this year’s limited edition War Horse Memorial Christmas card, using her own skills and AI (artificial intelligence) in what is a festive first for us.

Christmas is someway off but we have chosen today, August 23, National Animal Day, to share this striking image of the animals from the UK who gave service and sacrifice in war.

Seven year ago we unveiled Poppy, our magnificent war horse monument in Ascot, Berkshire. She was named by the nation’s Guides and Brownies and Jess, then a nine-year-old Brownie, was chosen with Guides from Gloucestershire (pictured below) to unveil the memorial in front of dignitaries, supporters and special guests from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, America and France.

Jess, who lives near Chester, and is now 16, says she wanted to feature the animals that played a pivotal role in both World Wars and subsequent conflicts. She explained: “It’s so sad to learn of the millions of horses, donkeys, dogs, cats and pigeons that were sent to the fighting and never came home.

“I also wanted to include the image of an unknown soldier to show how animals and humans fought alongside each other. The field of purple poppies represents the loss of life, both human and animal, which we must always remember as it secured the peace we have today.”

Christmas cards come in packs of five with a simple Season’s Greetings message inside. As a thank you for your support, we are including a pin badge with every complete order. The cost of each pack is £10, plus postage and packaging. Pre-order by tapping the link here to visit our shop .
