£1000 donation to Horse Trust all thanks to our generous supporters

We have this week donated £1000 to The Horse Trust , the world’s oldest equine charity, which specialises in offering retirement and respite for working horses and ponies. The money, raised by supporters of The War Horse Memorial, will be used to buy essential medical equipment

Since 1886 hard-working equine public servants which have served our nation in the Police, the Army or with charities which use horses to help people, have found a safe place to enjoy their latter years at The Horse Trust’s Home of Rest for Horses. The charity, based in Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, also provide sanctuary to horses, ponies and donkeys who have suffered from cruelty or neglect and who are in desperate need of specialist treatment and care.

Jessica Tallman, Director of Fundraising, told us: “On behalf of everyone at The Horse Trust, thank you to The War Horse Memorial and The Animal Purple Poppy Fund for your generous £1,000 donation towards our Urgent Vet Appeal. This incredible support, raised through the sale of pin badges and knitted poppies, will help provide essential veterinary care to our retired services horses when they need it most. Your continued dedication to the welfare of our nation's horses, both past and present, is truly inspiring.

“Essential veterinary equipment and facilities our horses rely on, was used to treat George, ( pictured here). Medical equipment and repairs are also needed for the Isolation Unit. Not only are these medical supplies and facilities vital to continue to treat severe welfare cases, they also allow us to provide immediate lifesaving care to many of our loyal retired service horses. Please watch the video (click below) to learn more about little George’s story and our campaign."
